AIDO, Kumam Cultural Heritage Launch Goat Dairy Project in Kaberamaido to Boost Livelihoods
Development efforts in Kumam land have gained momentum as His Royal Highness Won Ateker Raphael Otaya and partners from Canada under the Ateker International Development Organization (AIDO), led by His Royal Highness Dr. Paul Jones Eganda, visited Okile Ranch in Kaberamaido District to assess land and launch the start of work on a goat dairy and livestock value addition project.
The project, to be established on approximately 500 hectares of land offered by the Pwodi Eboot Cattle Ranching Cooperative Society, has faced slight setbacks due to flooding, which has reduced part of the usable area. Despite this, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to proceed with development.
Speaking during the visit, HRH Dr. Paul Jones Eganda emphasized that their mission is purely developmental. “We are here to bring development to Kumam land, not to take any piece of land,” he stated, reassuring the community of AIDO’s partnership approach.
Operating under the name “Kumam Mbusi House,” the initiative will include a goat dairy factory, sausage processing plant, and cattle value chain facilities, all aimed at improving local livelihoods and advancing agribusiness.
The royal delegation was joined by AIDO agricultural expert Jesca Atai, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kumam Cultural Heritage Kwaru Wang Richard, Second Deputy Prime Minister Peter Ekilu, Richard Ebong the minister incharge of regional and foreign affairs and Canadian Investor Chief Dion Hayness among others. The visit began with a briefing at the Kaberamaido District Council Hall before moving to Ojagai Village, Okile Parish, where community members welcomed the start of the transformative project.
The project will be financed by Capt. Chief Dion Hayness Paade together with his wife Princess Afrika through the company Canada Ink. The company is highly reputable in major investments in part of the Carebian.
